Additional Farm Activities
In many unexpected ways this winter paged through different chapters in my life. Some pages that I hadn’t read in a long time suddenly had new sentences on them, furthering contexts, historical gaps or view adjustments. The time in the refuge in October began to look more and more like a time of preparation for this winter. I didn’t realize the things I was going to face, some within myself, some with others.
Lambing went well for the most part, with some mothers refusing to participate in feeding their lambs. Don’s bottle-feeding routine commenced for five little ones. They, of course, are adorable as they follow Don in the backyard while he opens up the chicken coups for the day and feeds the ducks.
