This post serves as an introduction to the post that will follow. I hope you enjoy reading about my perspective on stretching the body, and that you find my music suggestions useful.
Rhythm Paced for Peace
I have come to stand firm in the perspective that I want to do as much as possible from a place of peace. This includes the rhythms of my routines, daily life and yearly commitments. There is a rhythm to everything we do, and I would like to pace mine for peace.
More Rhythm Here, Less Rhythm There for a While
I am finding my rhythm for the year at work. I have been shifted around a bit, but I have somewhat been given my steady post. I’m familiarizing myself with what goes where and how it all works and what is expected of me. My sense of focus has always been - since I can remember - that I need to, sort-of, shut down in other areas of myself in order to learn something new. It has been how I function since I can remember. Can you tell that I’m not one for multitasking?
My physical body-stretching-time and some of my time engaging with the farm world has paused for a little. I speak less to people too because I speak to people at work all day. The more my work things go into autopilot in myself, the more my other aspects can reawaken.
I Begin with Small Increments
I believe small increments are the way in which I best enjoy adding something to my plate. I’m not a bold, spontaneous, risk-big type of person. Calm, peaceful, careful at first, then I can feel safe to be spontaneous beyond the first step is the way I function best. Always have been like that.
I begin to reawaken toward adding a little bit of stretching into my routine because my body feels tight when it should feel warmly relaxed and ready for movement for the day.
If you’d like to join me, you’re welcome to do so. Just remember I am not a fitness expert, and I do not know what your body is able to do. It is your own choice if you join the session. It should be gentle.
What We Will Do:
We will stretch while seated in a chair. Then we will stretch standing next to either a chair or something sturdy to lean against or hold on to it. If you are able to join in, we will end the session on the ground doing some gentle stretching and relaxation breathing.
