Who Plans?
Sometimes I forget that we do not plan our steps. God does.
We had said yes to a friend’s gathering at their homestead for the following Saturday. A week goes by. All seems in order for our leaving in three hours on the planned Saturday so that we would arrive in time. But there were other plans we weren’t aware of yet. Plans that God was aware of…
Psalm 37:23 Amplified Bible Version
“23 The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the Lord,

“I’m just going to go check on the cows’ water troughs, then I’ll come in and we can get ready before leaving.” Don says with matter-of-fact-ease.

Story Paused for Another Story…
It is dangerous to think that one keeps cows under control. Cows choose to let us manage them. I’ve heard about it many times and witnessed it a few times. And if you know a cow, or think you know a cow, there should always be the hesitation of trusting the cow. Because a cow, or bull, is still a wild, large animal that can be very life-threatening.

He mostly roams around like a calm giant, but I have had the privilege of seeing him gallop and leap in the air like a happy young calf even though he is fully grown into a powerhouse.
One day, a while back, I stood opposite Moose in the forest. There was cattle panel fencing between us. He bent his head down a little, his gesture that I may touch his head. I stretched my arm over the fence and carefully used my fingers to massage his head and scratch out any hay or grass seeds stuck in the hair on his head that grow behind his horns in that deep crevasse he cannot himself reach.
